Installation on Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop

I am new to both Metasfresh and Ubuntu Linux.
I installed Ubuntu 20.04 on a small server. Used the desktop so as to learn that as well.
Want to install and test Metasfresh for the first time.
Used the installation instructions but that does not work.

My background is 30 years in Microsoft systems. Have set up the odd Linux (mainly Fedora) over the years and used Samba to make it look like Windows file system. Have also been Accpac ERP consultant for 25 years. Need something new.

So I have 2 questions:

  1. Is there a more simple or accurate installation instruction or video.
  2. Please point me in the right direction to learn more about these two products. I have started a Linux course on Udemy.
    Would appreciate some help and advice.

Welcome to the community forum!

In your case, I’d suggest using the docker-installation instead of the native installer. This is way more easier to configure, supports every OS that is able to run docker and docker-compose and is easier to clean up since it’s “just” containers, images and a directory used as a volume for persistent data.

All you need is docker and an active internet connection in order to pull the metasfresh images from dockerhub.
